Shiatsu
balances the qi, or life energy, through gentle pressure and stretches. Rooted in the energetic system of Asian medicine, this cousin of acupuncture can facilitate deep healing over time. It is also fantastic for one-time relaxation and revitalization.

We practice shiatsu on a comfortable futon on the floor in the traditional Japanese style. It feels great to stretch out on the floor—like a kid—after a long day sitting at a desk or standing at work. Of course, we can accommodate anyone who would prefer a table. Shiatsu is done fully clothed and without oil.
Shiatsu works best in conjunction with other modalities from the Asian medicine family. After your session, you'll receive suggestions of healing foods, qi gong exercises, or lifestyle recommendations—tailored to your unique needs—to weave healing benefits throughout your daily life.
For certain needs, we may incorporate cupping or Sotai-ho into the treatment.
